This Wednesday, at Whiskey River (EpiCentre), Mercedes-Benz of South Charlotte will be hosting the Queen City Shootout benefiting, yes you guessed it, Make-A-Wish foundation of Central and Western North Carolina.

This exciting event is a Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament to benefit our Foundation.  Buy a seat to play at the table, and you start off with $1000 worth of chips.  Cost is $250 per person.  Grand prize is a seat in the National Texas Hold’em Tournament in Las Vegas.  If interested in purchasing a seat, contact Jennifer Basara at jennifer.basara@gmail.com.

Get ready Make-A-Wish friends because tomorrow is your lucky day! Tomorrow(September, 24th) from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm Coldstone Creamery will be holding their World’s Largest Ice Cream Social benefiting Make-A-Wish!!!

 

In exchange for donating to our great chapter you will recieve a free, 3oz. sample of Jack’s creation – sweet cream ice cream mixed with brownies, rainbow sprinkles and topped with caramel….YUM! Jack, a wish child from the Metro New York chapter, designed this creation for you to enjoy!

 

To make matters better, Panther’s Cornerback, Dante Wesley will be at the EpiCentre location! Also, any individual that donates $100 during the month of September (at the EpiCentere, Blakeney, and Mallard Creek locations) will receive a Sundae Bar for 25–you know you want that!

I am sure most of you have heard about our brand new event, Walk For Wishes! We are very excited to be having this great event at Carowinds this October 24, and hope to see all of you there! How YOU can help:

1) 10% of the sale of loaves of bread & half a dozen or more bagels will go to Make-A-Wish!

2) If you drop your change in the Operation Doughnation box at the register, Panera Bread will match it and the money goes to Make-A-Wish!

Our fabulous MAW volunteers will be at the Providence, Ballantyne, Concord Mills, and Matthews locations with brochures and information on our upcoming Walk For Wishes on October 24. So you can have all of your questions answered!

Hello all Make-A-Wish friends! Hope you enjoyed Chima last week—I sure did. We had a great turn out thanks to you, and thanks to you again we were able to raise around $1,400 to help grant wishes for all of our kids. Thanks so much!

So, as most of you know, Wishnight 2009 is tomorrow night at the Ashton South End. Believe me you don’t want to miss out on this because we are going to have a great time. Hipshack will be there entertaining through the night and heavy hors d’oeuvers will be provided by Mimosa Grill, One Catering, Sullivans Steakhouse, and Crave Dessert Bar!  What more could you ask for? There is a $10 cover and all proceeds benefit our chapter!

In case you don’t already know the venue location is on 125 W. Tremont Ave. Wishnight starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.

1. THIS Thursday is Monkey Joe’s Family Fun Night. This is going on in the Pineville, Matthews, University, and Lake Norman locations. 2. Calling all food-lovers!! Chima Brazilian Steakhouse (139 S Tryon Street) is holding a Make-A-Wish night next Tuesday–August 18 (yes, you need to be marking your calendars at this time ) OK, here is where it gets better…you can enjoy a full dinner, meaning salad bar, dinner, and dessert (which is typically not included) all for $35.00! This is great because usually dinner and salad bar are $39.50 and if you add in a dessert which is typically $8-$10 you could be spending well over $49.50!! So, it really is great. Oh, and did I mention that 20% of the net proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish of Central and Western North Carolina? Call 704-601-4141 for reservations–you know I have!

3. Help us kick off our 25th anniversary…Thursday August 27 is Wish Night 2009!! It is sponsored by our great friends at Ashton South End (125 W. Tremont Ave., Charlotte). This fabulous event will be held from 6:00-9:00 pm and you will be able to enjoy some cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and some bidding on GREAT auction items!
